Ness's nightmare (who looks exactly like Mani Mani), represents the evil side of Ness's mind. He is seen in the sea of eden, in Magicant, which is a land created by Ness's mind, and Ness is sent there to defeat the evil side of him so he can obsorb the powers of the 'your sanctuary' locations.
