Hello fellow readers. This is my first letter to ENC but I read all your letters and I find them all very interesting. I wanted to contribute for a long time but I’m not the kind of person with a lot of stories to tell. You see, I’m a quiet lady that lives in Winters. I don’t believe in monsters whatsoever but I’ll tell you what I believe in: ghosts. Let me tell you the only story I have to share.
On a nice sunny day, I was reading a book on a snowy hill next to the Snow Wood Boarding School. The book was really interesting but it was also very hard to reads. Three factors made it hard for me to read it: it was complicated, I was freezing and the sun was reflecting heavily on the snow. Anyway, I kept on reading until my hands turned blue. I then decided it was time to get warm so that Henry James book went into my pocket. I got up and I started walking.
Suddenly, I realized something was wrong: my coat never had any pockets… I looked and I saw the book floating by my side. I started screaming but I heard a soft whisper in my hear: “Don’t scream.” I stopped screaming.
Some other stuff happened but I don’t think you’d be interested in the rest of the story. Let me just tell you that I was delightfully surprised and entertained when I found out the truth behind the story. It was by far the most original ending to any story I could imagine. Boy! Was I thrilled to be that entertained!
To conclude this letter, let me just tell you that the real explanation was the greatest thing in the world. The greatest! I still can’t believe I got to live such refreshing experience. Thanks to that ghost I now know the meaning of life.
Oh well, I don’t want to annoy you any longer. Time for tea!
