Bonjour! I'm the world famous, “Pizza Delivery Guy”. When I was growing up, I noticed that I could run pretty fast. Much quicker than most other kids my age. When I got into High School, I joined the track team there. We won every year I was on the team. I got a job at Mach Pizza soon after graduating. I can run faster than a cheetah and hold my speed for much longer. Though when I do get tired, I need to rest for a while. That isn't much of a problem though, I usually can run for hours without needing to stop.
I've been working for Mach Pizza for nearly twenty years. In that time, I've delivered far too many pizzas to count. I've met many good people and delivered pizzas to people who would become famous in the following years. Few people know that Venus ate pizza quite often in her time at college. The Runaway Five also would order pizza after a tough concert. I've even delivered pizza to the great author Dr. Saturn. Even the rotten Starman Deluxe would often demand pizza while he waited in the Stonehenge Base. Even the great Ness called on my services on his amazing quest. I was so happy to help!
Most of my day is spent delivering, but I also take orders when not on duty. While Mach Pizza does have a thirty minute guarantee, I haven't missed a deadline in my twenty years in my career. That is a world class record if I ever heard one. I have been awarded “Employee of the Month” for most of my time there, although I don't particularly like the praise. I just deliver the stuff; it's the good folks who make the pizza who are the real heroes. Every person in a business is very important. If the guy who cleans up the place wasn't there, the others couldn't get their work done.
While I've been doing this for twenty years, I really am satisfied with my job. It may not be as much fun as say, game programming, but it gives me a sense of satisfaction that I am able to help families enjoy their dinner by getting it there while it's still hot. Although the chefs certainly deserve credit for feeding them and making sure it tastes delicious. Many times I get sole recognition for the complements customers phone in, but I try to make sure the others get adulation too.
My typical day starts at noon, when I arrive at work. We open at 12:30 PM when the lunchtime rush begins. After we all eat lunch, which typically doesn't include pizza as you get rather tired of food that you eat all of the time. When the rush begins, I shoot out with an armful of twenty or more pizzas which are quickly delivered to their recipients; the money is collected and returned. Near 2 PM the rush is over and we prepare for the dinner orders. From then until 5 PM we prepare pizza for the coming demand. Orders between the two main times are fairly rare, but I take care of them with the same vigor. The late night deliveries are always the roughest, since I have to move fast without being able to see what I'm doing. I rarely trip, especially knowing the consequences. We close delivery service at 9 PM but will serve customers in our restaurants.
As you can tell, I can get to bed early if I want, but I rarely do. I'm far more interested in reading the newest printed releases each month. Most nights, I'm awake until midnight reading. I especially like fiction, but I'll read informative books with captivated interest as well. Among other types, I especially love Science Fiction. There's no better predictor of the future than the wild imagination of today's writers. I also spend a lot of time reading the Eagleland News Central, maybe you've heard of it?
Adieu! Also; please don't forget to submit to the ENC, those wacky guys will publish almost anything.
