There are some things that you might not know that don't really fit into any other section on the site. If you are new at Earthbound, some of this is important to know.
- The life meters slowly go down when you get hit. Later in the game, you can use this to your advantage. If you move fast enough and kill your enemy before the meter reaches zero, it will stop at the end of the battle and you won't die.
- Later in the game, you recieve a few items that will become useless or won't need to be used for a while. (i.e. Bicycle, Backstage Pass) You don't have to hold onto these. Escargo Express or Tracy, who works for them, will hold onto the stuff that can't be used, sold, or is just taking up space you need.
- Always buy the best equipment possible. Early in the game this is important because you are so weak. Later in the game money builds up quickly and usually you have enough when you get to the store.
- The Teddy Bear is a very useful item. Especially early in the game. I usually have on the way to Happy Happy Village. The Teddy Bear is like a decoy. Enemies will attack it as if it were one of the group. It can save your life.
- After beating the Santuary Guardian, all the enemies in the cave will run away from you. You won't have to worry about fighting on the way out.
- At every santuary location you can recover your HP and PP.
- Magic butterflies recover 20 PP. There are places where they always appear. Two places that I always remeber are Giant Step and a room in the Fourside serwer.
